1.  Keep Tabs On Your Life

By first finding the things that truly matter to you in life: the start point to finding balance is when you can successfully manage the important things in your life without any of them suffering.

And for you to successfully balance these things, you need first to know them. So I ask, what do you want out of life? What things truly matter to you? Have you ever envisioned your perfect life?

Have a heart-to-heart talk with yourself. If you don’t know your destination or have a plan or idea of how you want your life’s ultimate goal, you may not live a life of balance because you put the unnecessary things as necessary.

So I ask again, what do you want out of life? A successful home as a business mogul, a thriving business, running a charity, being free to see the world, or writing inspiring articles for people?

Whatever it is you have set out of life, find it early and set plans in motion to start becoming that woman you want to be. In life, this is the first thing to find out if you ever want to know how to be balanced in life as a mom.

2.  Planning

It is a very essential and vital habit to cultivate as a mom. Planning means carefully thinking through, finding out important things, and finding ways to achieve them.

No mom can survive motherhood without proper planning. With the numerous responsibilities we have to handle, choosing not to plan or being too lazy to cultivate planning habits, will only lead to an unsuccessful, unbalanced, stressful, and unproductive life.

Make planning a lifestyle. Plan kid’s births, have a family plan with your partner on how you both want to run the home, plan your meals, your assignments at work, holidays, shopping, picnics, kid games, and every other thing you need to as a woman and for your home.

3.  Using Schedules

Coming just right up after planning is the use of schedules. They go hand in hand. No point planning all the beautiful things for yourself and your family and not swinging into action.

Making and using schedules is the next step to take after planning. So, cultivate it as a habit if you are thinking of balancing as a mom and making things work in your life and home.

The schedule is the springboard that puts out all your plans into motion. After planning or while planning, take enough time to solidify your goals by sticking time durations to each of them.

See where they overlap and make proper adjustments where necessary. Of course, in your schedules, you should put all the more important things first, before the least essential items, as that is how you can be effective.

Having a well-laid-out schedule can help you successfully balance family and professional life, so we can say that it is a great habit to cultivate work-life balance. It is also super helpful for working moms with babies.

4.  Using Routines

To create order and sanity in my life and to keep me well balanced, as much as I do regular planning and use schedules, I also have routines that I live by.

These routines have become part of me. Part of what makes me this successful today. You, too, can try using routines, and soon, they become a habit.

Find routines samples or make up some to aid your motherhood journey—morning routines like waking up early and exercising keep ahead in your day. Evening routines like clearing dishes each night, preparing your clothes, your kid’s clothes, and even their boxes and school stuff every night can save you a lot of time and stress in the morning.

Weekend routines like always having a fun time with yourself and your kids, having a long shower, and preparing meals for the new week can keep you set for the week. Routines are super important habits you should make part of you. They give you the needed balance. So if you find want to know how to be balanced in life as a mom, find routines that make your life less stressful.

5.  Find Distractions And Kick Them Out

To achieve balance in life, you need to avoid spending your time on those things that do not count. I outlined as one of my points above the need for planning, where you identify and find out those things that matter—those things you need to make you live the life you have always envisioned.

I doubt spending 30 minutes every day on petty gossip is one of them, or spending countless hours on the phone to keep up with social media or watching TV all day.

These things can be distracting, and they will only end up taking our time and preventing us from doing those things that truly matter. While they are not bad in themselves, doing them too often will only make us lose focus.

So instead of spending those long hours during lunch with your colleagues, gossiping about co-workers, or talking on the phone with your best friend all night.

Choose instead to do those things that will make you closer to your life’s goal, to make your life have meaning, and make you become the woman you want to be.

Reduce the time you spend on those endless talks. You may also try skipping those long baths every day or watching your favorite show on TV when other essential tasks are suffering.

6.  Do Not Overload Your Schedule

If you are a wife, a mother, and a career woman, you will know how tough and tricky it can be to balance caring for your home perfectly, your relationship with your partner, your job, and taking care of yourself.

If you are not careful in the choices you make, chances are some will suffer. To make things easier, it would be wiser if you learn not to overload yourself with too many things.

Oh, you want to be an achiever at work, so you volunteer for a project when you have a baby at hand and other kids to attend to, and you enroll for a course to get an additional degree.

You will only create problems for yourself by taking up too much at go. Learn to stick to the essentials. If your focus is on family or your health for a period, do not over-commit at work or take a course that would be tasking.

If you intend to build a career, do not plan on having a baby too soon, and make sure the kids at hand are a bit independent. Learning to keep things simple and making the right choices can sometimes be the trick you need if you want to know how to be a good wife and mother and how to be balanced in life as a mom.

7.  Ditch Mom Guilt

When you feel guilty that you are not living up to expectations or carrying on perfectly your role as a mother or a wife, you need not be too hard yourself.

Remember, you are not perfect after all, so there will be times when you make mistakes. But rather than feeling bad and letting it affect things.

First, pat yourself in the back for the many sacrifices you make for your kids, your home, even for people. Then reflect on the choices you make and the things you do as a woman, a mom, and a wife.

If you have some lapses, make plans and adjust. Do not kill yourself for the errors. You are not perfect. In areas where you are doing well, find more innovative ways to be better, to make things easier for you. When you reflect regularly, you know where you need to make changes and bring the required balance in your life.

8.  Get The Needed Help

Get a childcare center. Or a nanny or family member to help you, especially if you have a baby at hand as a working mom. Handling a baby, a job, the home at the same time, is a huge responsibility, and it can be challenging for only one person to take.

If you want to be balanced in life as a working mom, it is wise always to speak up when you need help. Get help from your partner, family members, or trusted friends out there.

They can hook you up with good nanny agencies, cleaning agencies, or come around to assist one time or the other, or give you great ideas that help you ease the burden.

Carrying the load alone, thinking you can do it, is a lie. Dear moms, we need to tell ourselves the truth that sometimes we need other people to help us handle things and that because we seek help does not mean we are failing in our responsibilities.

9.  Prioritizing Self-Care

Raymond Hull wisely said he who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away. And that can be more apt. So you want to know how to be balanced in life as a mom. Have you thought about making self-care a part of your lifestyle?

Oh dear woman, patient, self- enduring, self-sacrificing, you keep doing all the things for your kids, for your job, for your partner, for your friends. But what about you? You have to be just right at the center of the equation, as others.

It is pointless trying to think you can have a balanced life when you make sure that all the essential things like your kids, hubby, family, job are settled when you are not. There isn’t going to be balance at all. The first person you should think of if you want to know how to be balanced in life as a mom is you.

How can you help yourself to be a great mom? By keeping off stress, eating healthy, exercising, motivating yourself, treating yourself to nice stuff, doing those things you love. These things spur you to live a better life for yourself, your kids, and your family and make the life you have been aiming for a reality.

10.  Avoiding Comparison

As we wrap up, the last habit you should always adopt to keep you well balanced as a mother is avoiding comparison. You want your life to be ABC the next day, and you are changing it to XYZ because you feel Elizabeth’s idea of a perfect life is better than yours.

Of course, you will encounter hitches because you both have different lives and different families. The idea of having a balanced life depends on what you want out of life.

Yes, it is good to admire some other women and get one or two ideas to make you live life better, but never pattern yours exactly or always compare.

It gives you unnecessary stress living according to some else’s standard. If you want to know how to be balanced in life as a mom, then be wise to stop comparing other people’s life with yours.

Finding balance has been one of the greatest desires for every human, especially women, and it is possible if we work at it. If ever the thought of how to be balanced in life as a mom has crossed your mind, adopting these 10 habits can be the first step in the right direction to achieve that which you desire. See you at the top.
