The idea of waking up by 5 am or 6 am every morning never appealed to me. It was for the over-serious ones I thought, not me. It’s funny how I recollect all these now. I loved to sleep, well into the morning. The birds were my alarm bells.
When I wake, I would spend extra minutes in bed before getting out. Well, motherhood made me learn the importance of rising up early before my kids if ever I wanted to be successful as a mom and as a woman. Of course, it was very difficult when I started the training.
My baby cry for food was my wake-up bell then and how tiring that was. Spending almost all night half-awake to feed now cutting my sleep again in the morning Argggggh!. It wasn’t funny at all. I started using an alarm.
The ring tones were annoying, but what choice did I have? It was either to wake up late and have an unorganized day or strive to wake up earlier, complete my tasks on time, and have more time for rest later in the day.
With time, I started getting a grasp on how to wake up early. I have adjusted so well that these days, I wake up even before the alarm rings. And I am glad to say that I am much happier as I have more time to plan and prepare my day.
